Trip Description (Mar 7 to Mar 15, 2025)
The Bytown Ski Club will use Air Canada for direct return flights between Montreal to Geneva Switzerland. For Ottawa group departures, we will have a private coach departing and returning to Ottawa train station to and from Montreal Dorval Airport.
We use private coach transfers between Geneva Airport and the Portes du Soleil regional town of Morzine, a short coach ride of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Your Club Hotel Le Cret is located a short walking distance from the town centre and the two gondola stations into the huge Portes du Soleil ski region. There is also a free ski bus that stops in front of the hotel for a few minutes' bus ride to the Morzine lifts or a third gondola lift station that takes one directly from Morzine to the mountain resort of Avoriaz. To rent winter sports equipment, Club Hotel Le Cret offers the services of Sport 2000 ski-snow board store in the heart of the hotel. Skis, boots, snowboards, accessories, not to mention new winter sports equipment, the Sport 2000 shop offers a wide range of quality equipment that is regularly maintained.
The Club Hotel Le Cret is much more than a place to sleep! It is a mini club med style complex that offers guests an array of activities, entertainment and a super buffet restaurant with food stations. There is also a great indoor swimming pool, steam room, jacuzzi and gym. Their team also offers massages and relaxation sessions, on request. While not Las Vegas, the Club Hotel Le Cret organizes, at no extra cost, a range of evening concerts, cabaret shows, sketches, trivia nights, karaoke and dance parties, throughout ones stay. The hotel rooms are all equipped with private washrooms, WIFI, telephone, TV with digital channels, hairdryer, and a safety deposit box.
The Portes du Soleil ski area is 13 alpine resorts linked between France and Switzerland and all accessible thanks to a single pass. Your all-inclusive region 6 day ski pass provides you access to over 650 kilometres of slopes and 250 lifts to an elevation of 2466 metres. The recent ten-year average snowfall has been over 400cms of snow.
While trips to airports on ski trips from most mountain resorts often require extraordinary early getaway departures, the proximity of Morzine to Geneva airport, together with our noon departure on our direct flight home, we would only have to leave for Geneva from our hotel at approximately 7:15 am on Saturday March 15.

Expenses related to COVID 19 will not be covered if the Government of Canada issues an "Avoid All Travel" or an "Avoid All Non-Essential Travel" Advisory, advising or recommending that Canadians not travel to a specific country, region or city on their date of departure.

Registration Information
Reservations for the limited number of group package spots will be accepted on first-come basis starting 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 13, 2024 by phoning Touringhouse at 613-741-2942 and/or submitting an application to Touringhouse by mail, deliver to office, or email attachment.
There will be a trip information meeting, open to all, on Wednesday September 11, 2024 from 18:30 - 19:30 at the Nepean Sailing Club, Harbourview Room, Andrew Haydon Park, 3259 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, ON, K2H 1A6 (directions at bottom).

Initial deposits of $400, plus optional insurance must be made at time of application to guarantee your reservation, together with your application.If you are reserving your spot by phone call or email, your $400 application fee (and insurance payment if required) must be paid to Touringhouse within seven calendar days.
Balance of payment is due with post-dated cheque dated November 15, 2024, or email transfer or credit card payment before November 15, 2024.

Touringhouse will endeavour to pair single registrants into a two-person room, if possible and upon request. In event of a pairing option, you would be provided an opportunity to network with your potential roommate prior to finalization.
Please note that payments once made are fully non-refundable unless eligible for insurance refund or the trip has to be cancelled by Touringhouse and suppliers for whatever reason.
Deviations
While the group must depart together from Ottawa, individuals will be allowed to change their return date, provided requests are made in writing by October 31, 2024.
The airlines allow only 20% of the passengers in the group to change their return date. For example, if only 20 passengers take the full package with air, only 4 persons will be able to deviate.
Extensions are permitted for a maximum of 7 days after the group returns. Deviations are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
There will be an Air Canada service charge of $100.00 per person to process individual deviations plus the applicable incremental airfare if the same class of service is not available on the return. We cannot guarantee the same airfare for individuals returning on a different date.
Land only, or deviation people, are welcome to use the group coach transfers Geneva to/from Morzine, IF they make prior arrangements to join the group in advance to coach departures. We cannot give a credit for transfers which are not used by passengers making their own air arrangements or deviating.
