Tour itinerary
Day 1 - Day of departure
Depart on your overnight flight from Toronto or Montreal to Salzburg via a European gateway.

Day 2 - Salzburg
On arrival in Salzburg, you will be met by our ground operator, and transferred to your hotel, located 30 minutes outside Salzburg, in the Lake District. It is a typical, charming country hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to rest from your long flight. Dinner this evening will be at your hotel.

Day 3 - Salzburg
Breakfast followed by a half day guided tour of Salzburg to include the city's most famous sights: Visit the exquisite Mirabell Gardens, the famous Horse Trough, the Great Festival Hall, St. Peter's Churchyard, Domplatz, and Mozart's birthplace. In the afternoon, wander the Christkindlmarkt (Christmas Market) which is a wonderland of Christmas decorations and hand-made crafts. Return to your hotel for dinner and the night.

Day 4 - Salzburg / Oberndorf
Breakfast followed by a free day. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to trace down the history of "Silent Night". The most famous Christmas Carol of all time was composed in Oberndorf, a charming town north of Salzburg. You will learn about the history of the song at the site where Silent Night was first performed in Oberndorf. In the evening, enjoy a typical Austrian Christmas dinner at your hotel.

Day 5 - Salzburg
Today, after a late breakfast, depart on a full-day excursion to the Austrian Alpine Resort of Badgastein. The excursion will include lunch at the "Prossau House Restaurant" and a winter sleigh ride through the forest. There is no location more beautiful to enjoy winter sports than in the majestic Austrian Alps. Dinner this evening will be at your hotel.

Day 6 - Salzburg
Breakfast followed by a free day for skiing in the Austrian Alps (at your cost). Bus transportation to and from the hotel is included. This evening, enjoy an early dinner, followed by a performance at the Marionette Theatre.

Day 7 - Salzburg
Breakfast followed by a free day for skiing in the Austrian Alps (at your cost). Bus transportation to and from the hotel are included. In the evening, attend a Mozart Dinner and Concert at the St. Peter Stiftskeller (St. Peter's Beer Cellar). It is the oldest restaurant in Austria, dating back to 803. Return to your hotel for the night.

Day 8 - Day of Return
Transfer to the airport to take your return flight to Toronto or Montreal.

Optional extension - New Year's Eve in Vienna (December 29 - January 02)
You can request an optional extension to allow you to spend New Year's in Vienna. The extension is only possible if there are 10 paying passengers.The extension itinerary is given below.

Day 8 - Salzburg / Baden
Depart for Vienna by coach. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for an afternoon at leisure. Your hotel is located in Baden, a charming spa town in the Vienna Woods. Dinner and overnight will be at your hotel.

Day 9 - Baden / Vienna
Leisurely buffet breakfast followed by a half day guided sightseeing tour of Vienna to include all the city's most important sights: the Hofburg Palace (the former winter residence of the Habsburgs), the Ringstrasse with its magnificent buildings such as the Opera House, St. Stephan's Cathedral, Parliament, the University and Musikverein. After some free time for independent lunch, enjoy a visit to the Schonnbrunn Palace. Dinner this evening will consist of a typical Austrian meal at a heuriger.

Day 10 - Baden
Today will be a free day to enjoy a spa treatment at the hotel (at your cost). In the evening, enjoy dinner and the New Year's Festivities at the world famous Baden Casino.

Day 11 - Baden
Buffet breakfast followed by a New Year's Concert in the town of Baden. In the afternoon, enjoy a drive through the beautiful Vienna Woods. Dinner and overnight will be at your hotel.

Day 12 - Day of Return
Transfer to the airport, in order to take your flight to Toronto or Montreal.
