The capital city of Oman lies sparkling white, topped with golden minarets in the middle of a maze of brown pleated mountains reaching down to the Arabian Sea. Described as "Arabia's jewel", this city is a blend of the old and the new. Old Muscat has a quaint charm about it with many forts, castles, mosques and towers dotting the landscape.
On arrival in Abu Dhabi, you will be met by our ground operator and transferred to your hotel. Dinner, welcome cocktail alumni gathering, and overnight will be at your hotel in Abu Dhabi.
After breakfast, enjoy a half day guided tour of Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates. The tour will show you the most important sights: Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Heritage Village and Cultural Foundation. You will also visit the one of a kind Falcon Hospital, to learn how the falcon has always played a prominent role in the history and culture of the Middle East. Discover the art and history of falconry, and even learn why falcons have passports for travel in the Middle East!. Dinner and overnight will be at your hotel in Abu Dhabi.
Depart for Bab Al Shams Desert Resort. Surrounded by gently sloping dunes and natural desert landscape, Bab Al Shams offers guests a one of its kind traditional desert experience that is true to the culture and heritage of Dubai and the UAE. Meaning "gateway to the sun", Bab Al Shams is built in an Arabic fort setting in and around an oasis. Inside the walls, shaded courtyards, walkways and water features provide cool shelter and maintain the unique ambience and atmosphere. Dinner at Bab Al Shams Desert Resort will consist of a buffet extravaganza, camel and horse riding, horse show on the dunes, folkloric dancing and belly dancing.
After breakfast, depart for Dubai. On arrival, enjoy a half day guided tour of the city's most important sights, including: Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina, Palm Island and Burj Al Arab. Traditional Arabian Dhow Cruise with dinner.
After a leisurely breakfast, visit to Jumeirah Mosque and the spice and gold souks. The afternoon is free for shopping and independent activities. Dinner this evening will be at your hotel in Dubai.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in order to board your flight to Muscat. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Dinner and overnight will be at your hotel in Muscat.
This morning, enjoy a half day cultural city tour to include the Grand Mosque and Bait Al Zubair Museum, which gives you a brief introduction to Oman's history and development. Drive along the waterfront to the Fish Market and the colourful Muttrah Souq. Then on to the magnificent Al Alam Palace, official palace of Sultan Qaboos, flanked by the 16th C Portuguese forts Jalali and Mirani. Dinner and overnight will be at your hotel in Muscat.
Today, after breakfast, proceed by bus to Nizwa, capital of the interior and birth place of Islam in the Sultanate of Oman. Nizwa boasts the famous Round Tower Fort, built in the 17th C and its souq, renowned for its Friday cattle auction and intricately hand carved silver jewelry. Visit Jabrin, the finest of Oman's castles, built in the 17th Century, and a seat of Omani learning. You will also view Bahla Fort (from the outside) while en route to Nizwa.
After breakfast, depart by 4X4 vehicles to the Desert Nights Camp. En route, we will pass Wadi Bahni Khalid. It comprises of small pretty villages embedded in the mountains. The wadi has clear deep blue water. Picnic lunch boxes will be provided to be enjoyed under the shade of the trees at the wadi (oasis). Proceed to Wahiba Sands, a mass of ondulating red and white sand dunes, rising up to 200 meters high. The ever-changing patterns of the dunes are a photographer's delight. Visit a Bedouin house in the wilderness. Buffet dinner and overnight will be in tents at the Desert Nights Camp.
This morning you will experience the unique "sand dune bashing" adventure on 4X4 vehicles, followed by a visit to a local Bedouin house to interact with a local family, before continuing to Muscat. On arrival in Muscat, you will be transferred to your hotel. Dinner this evening will be an Arabic set-menu meal at Kargeen Restaurant.
Transfer to the airport in order to take your flight to Abu Dhabi. Own arrangements for departure from Abu Dhabi.
